Header, Announcement Bar and Footer

Settings in Header, Announcement bar and Footer, on the theme's settings page (Appearance › Themes › Configure Theme).

Header

Every header setting starts where Confetti began: a large logo, the classic layout, the palette's main color and a search field. Change only what you want.

Setting What it does
Logo A PNG at least twice as tall as it appears: about 140 pixels for the default size, 190 for Extra large. PNG, JPG or GIF, up to 1 MB. Without a logo, the header shows the site's title. Add a light version under Dark mode › Logo for dark mode if your logo is dark.
Logo size Small, Medium, Large (default) or Extra large.
Site title Shown only when there is no logo (default), or always next to the logo.
Tagline A short line shown with the site title.
Header layout Logo on the left and the menu on the right (default; a long menu wraps below the logo), the menu below the logo, the logo centered above the menu, or the logo with a Menu button only. On phones every layout shows the logo and a Menu button.
Header color The palette's main color (default) or second color, a light tint, the page background, or dark. Text, the search field and the header button keep readable contrast on each. On the page background or the light tint, the header's wavy edge blends into the page.
Keep the header visible while scrolling The header, wavy edge and all, stays at the top of the window. Links and focused controls always stop below it.
Search A search field (default), a search button that opens the field, or no search in the header.
Header button label and link An optional button such as "Plan a visit" or "Donate". The link is a path on your site, such as /visit, or a full address. On screens narrower than about 640 pixels it moves into the menu.
Menu levels How many levels of the site's navigation the header shows; 0 shows them all.

The menu is Omeka's Appearance › Navigation: drag a link under another to make a submenu.

Announcement bar

The Announcement appears in a colored bar above the header on every page: opening hours, a closure, an event. Links are allowed. Leave it empty to hide the bar.

Footer

Setting What it does
Footer columns 1–3 Address, opening hours, a short mission statement… written in the rich-text editor. Columns left empty are not shown.
Social media links One address per line, such as https://www.instagram.com/yourlibrary. The platform's name is detected; mailto: addresses and RSS feeds work too.
Contact page, Accessibility statement page, Privacy policy page Help links shown in the same place on every page (WCAG 3.2.6 Consistent Help). Enter a path on your site, such as /contact, or a full address. A path to a Simple Page takes the page's title as its link text.

The footer also repeats the main menu's top level and ends with a copyright line ("© 2026 Your site", from the site's title) and a Back to top link.
