How the preview decides
After each change, the theme reports whether the open page can be restyled or has to be rendered again. Settings that only change the page's styles apply instantly; settings that change its content reload the preview at the same scroll position.
Changing the Style preset applies instantly unless the new preset also changes a reload setting (for example, its dark mode), in which case the preview reloads.
Which settings apply instantly is up to each theme. Every theme built on the Theme Engine applies these instantly: the style preset, colors, contrast and focus color, the dark mode background, fonts and type, page and reading width, corners, buttons, spacing, shadows, header layout and color, logo size, announcement bar and footer colors, card styles, and custom CSS. The lists below are for Vitrine.
