If you no longer need Solr, you can cancel the add-on from the Solr Servers page. There are a couple of things to know before you do, so here is the whole process.
First, delete your servers
The cancel button only appears once all of your Solr servers are gone, so this is the first step. From the Solr Servers page, open each server and click the red Delete button at the top. You will be asked to confirm.

One important thing to understand: deleting a server permanently deletes its cores and search indexes. There is no undo. Your Omeka sites themselves are completely untouched, because Solr only ever holds a copy of your collection built for searching. All of your items, files, and pages stay safely on your site.
Cancel the subscription
With your servers deleted, head back to the Solr Servers page and you will see a Cancel Solr Subscription button. Click it and confirm.

What happens next
- Your Solr subscription stays active through the end of your current billing period.
- It will not renew after that, and you will not be charged for Solr again.
- Payments you have already made are not refunded.
If you change your mind
You can come back to Solr whenever you like. The Subscribe to Solr button will be waiting on the Solr Servers page, and subscribing and adding a server walks through the steps again.
Just remember that your old cores and indexes were deleted along with the servers, so you would be starting fresh: create a new server, add a core, and reconnect your site with the new connection details. Our guide on creating cores and connecting Omeka covers that part.
