You visit your new site expecting to see Omeka, and instead you get a setup form asking for a site title, an email, and a password. Do not worry, nothing is broken. It just means the automatic part of the setup did not quite finish, and it is easy to complete yourself.
What happened
When we build a new site, the last step is filling in Omeka's own setup form for you, using the admin email you chose and a password we generate. If that step could not complete, your site is installed and running, but Omeka is still waiting for those first details. That is the form you are seeing.
The dashboard retries this step on its own, so the first thing to do is simply give it a few minutes and refresh your site. The activity feed at the bottom of the site page will tell you if it ran out of retries and could not complete.

Finish the setup yourself
If the activity feed says the setup could not complete, you can do the last step by hand. It only takes a minute.
- Open your site's Settings page in the dashboard and find the admin email and password. This is the same login described in logging into your site.
- Visit your site so the installer form appears.
- Fill in the form using that admin email and password, along with a title for your site.
- Submit the form.

Once the form goes through, your site behaves exactly as if the automatic setup had finished on its own. You can sign in at the admin address with the same email and password and start adding items.
Using the email and password from the Settings page matters. It keeps the login shown in your dashboard in sync with what your Omeka site actually accepts, so you will not be guessing at credentials later.
If the form will not go through
Occasionally the installer form itself refuses to submit, or brings you back to the same screen. If that happens, do not keep retrying. Open a support ticket with your site name and a note that the installer will not complete, and we will finish the setup for you.
